Injured Benjamin Sesko to Sit Out Slovenia Matches but United Optimistic of Quick Comeback
Striker Benjamin Sesko will miss out on the Slovenian national team's upcoming fixtures versus Sweden and Kosovo because of a knee problem sustained during the recent game at Tottenham. However, Manchester United remains hopeful that he could return soon enough to play against Everton following the international break.
Knock Particulars and Timeline
The forward had to come off in the 87th minute of Saturday's 2-2 stalemate against Tottenham having been introduced on 58 minutes for Noussair Mazraoui. Manager Ruben Amorim voiced worry after the game, resulting in Sesko's withdrawal from the Slovenian national team.
The club will conduct additional examinations at their Carrington facility in the coming days, but initial assessments point to a possible recovery in time for the Everton match scheduled for November 24th.
Other Team Updates
Maguire and Casemiro also had to leave the pitch during the Tottenham match. While the defender's condition is yet to be determined, it is understood that the midfielder is fit and has joined international duty with Brazil.
Lisandro Martínez, who has been sidelined since suffering a knee issue in February, will join Argentina at their training base in Europe. But, the center-back won't play in Friday's friendly versus Angola in Luanda. A staff member of United's medical staff will accompany Martínez, who recently resumed work with the first-team group.
