Prosecutors have announced that a ex- physician now faces charges for committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – including acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The charges follow what police called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
