FC Barcelona Set to Play First Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in La Liga 30 months after they moved out to allow renovations to start.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. When completed, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued from Uefa to host the next European match facing Eintracht in December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
