Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday night. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on December 29th, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

His release from the hospital follows the global fight fans offered condolences for the champion in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
